On Tuesday J23 We took a ride by car from Mumbai to Pune along a very impressive expressway (a freeway with less cars on it). On the way I saw one of the worst business property organization jobs I've ever seen-- four competing car companies, all with production plants and offices on the same block in adjacent buildings. Maruti next to Tata next to Fiat next to Bajaj. No wonder the car industry here hasnt really taken off. The best car available to the common public is the Toyota Qualis ( I estimate a '77 model that had dismal US sales). The really rich people have Hyundais manufactured in the early 90s but nothing newer.
